Ons centrum voor rivierinterpretatie ligt aan de oevers van de Ourthe in Hotton en initieert u in de discrete maar boeiende natuur die ons en de rivier omringt. Dacht u dat een poel zich beperkt tot enkele waterjuffers en een stel kwakende kikkers? Absoluut niet! Kleine waterplassen bruisen van leven. Leven dat de moeite loont om er even bij stil te staan en het te observeren. Fauna en flora zijn er nauw verweven en staan borg voor een prachtig en natuurlijk waterspektakel.

(FR) Située sur la Place Arsène Soreil, cet espace d’accueil convivial propose un musée sur les dolmens et les menhirs et sur leurs constructeurs, les premiers agriculteurs-éleveurs du Néolithique, il y a 5000 ans.

(NL) Het museum biedt een boeiende kijk op de eerste landbouwers-veetelers die – zo’n 5.000 jaar geleden – op deze unieke site in België op het einde van de Steentijd met puddingsteenrotsblokken de dolmens en menhirs hebben geplaatst. Hun leefgemeenschap en leefwijze worden verduidelijkt aan de hand van didactische borden, voorwerpen, maquettes, reconstructies en een audiovisuele voorstelling.

(EN) The museum illustrates the way of life of the first farming communities by way of displays, objects, models, reconstructions and an audiovisual presentation. Here in Wéris, a site unique in Belgium lived a Neolithic community some 5000 years ago. These people transported huge blocks of puddingstone rocks downhill to this plateau to build their dolmens (gallery graves) and menhirs (standing stones).
